How to compare different branches in Visual Studio Code

Here is the step by step guide:
- Install the GitLens extension: GitLens
- Then, Click on Source Control:
- Click on Search & Compare
- Click on Compare References
- Select the branches you want to compare:
- Now, You can select any file for which you want to see the diff from Search & Compare
Update: As of November, 2020, Gitlens appears within VSCode's builtin Source Control Panel
I would recommend to use: Git Lens.
