Performing a git pull in pure PHP
I have just realised that you can use SVN to request a repository from GitHub.
And SVN seems supported by PHP.
So I will use SVN, it should do the trick.
I hope this has saved someone else the trouble of Googling for hours. Give SVN + GitHub a go.
